Information session: Erasmus+ opportunities for HEIs

The information session was jointly organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the National Erasmus+ Office (NEO), and the Higher Education Reform Experts (HEREs) team.

Representatives from leading higher education institutions in Tashkent attended the session to learn about the latest updates on the 2026 Erasmus+ Call, receive guidance for new applicants under CBHE Strand 1, and exchange experiences from ongoing CBHE projects.

Erasmus+ CBHE projects  impacts on Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent

On May 5, as part of Erasmus+ Week in Uzbekistan, a Zoom session was held on the topic “Erasmus+ CBHE Project Impacts on Turin Polytechnic University in Tashkent.”

The session brought together university staff and project stakeholders to reflect on the achievements and ongoing impact of Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) projects implemented at TTPU.

Key highlights from the discussion included:

  • Experiences with implementing CBHE projects such as MechaUz, HiEdTec, ELBA, and TACEESM
  • Advancements in teaching methodologies and the integration of digital technologies
  • Development of new courses and modern laboratories in mechatronics, energy efficiency, and environmental studies
  • Capacity building for academic staff through international cooperation and training programs
  • Strengthened partnerships with European universities and industry representatives

The event also underscored how CBHE projects support TTPU’s strategic objectives in modernization, innovation, and internationalization.\

Methodological session: Erasmus+ CBHE and Jean Monnet projects: How to develop a good project proposal

On May 6, 2025, Westminster International University in Tashkent hosted a vibrant methodological session on Erasmus+ CBHE and Jean Monnet projects, bringing together experts and representatives from higher education institutions across Uzbekistan.

Organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, National Erasmus+ Office, and Erasmus+ Higher Education Reform Experts (HEREs) team, the session focused on practical guidance for developing strong project proposals and navigating Erasmus+ opportunities.

Key highlights included:

  • Insights into Erasmus+ opportunities for institutions and individuals by Mahmudjon Utkurov and Bonu Abdusalomova

  • Case studies from successful CBHE and Jean Monnet projects, shared by Dr. Khabibullo Nosirov and Assoc. Prof. Dildora Shadiyeva

On May 6, within the framework of Erasmus+ Week in Uzbekistan, an online meeting was held via Zoom on the topic “The Impact of Erasmus+ CBHE Projects on TUIT Urgench Branch.”

Representatives of the university and project stakeholders took part in the meeting and discussed the impact of Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) projects on the life and development of the branch.

During the meeting, it was especially noted that CBHE projects contribute to the strategic goals of the TUIT Urgench branch in terms of modernization, innovation, and international cooperation.

Erasmus+ Mobility Programme opportunities

On May 7, an informative event dedicated to Erasmus+ opportunities took place at the Tashkent Institute of Management and Economics.

Participants explored various directions of the programme, including:

  • Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Degrees (EMJM)

  • International Credit Mobility (ICM)

  • Marie Skłodowska-Curie Research Programmes

  • Experience-sharing from Erasmus+ alumni

Special guest — Mohammad Rajai, Head of the International Department in the OCEANS Network (a global alumni network for Erasmus+ graduates), shared his experience and gave students a strong dose of inspiration and motivation.

Erasmus+ CBHE projects  impacts on Fergana State Technical University

On May 8, as part of Erasmus+ Week, an online session was held on the topic: "Erasmus+ CBHE Projects Impact on Ferghana Polytechnic Institute."

During the event, we highlighted how Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) projects are helping FerPI modernize its education system and strengthen international cooperation.

Featured CBHE projects at Fergana State Technical University:

  • MECHAUZ (2021–2024) – Mechanical engineering modernization

  • SPACECOM (2021–2024) – Space science and communication capacity building

  • DEBSEUz (2020–2023) – Business education development

  • LESLIE (2023–2026) – Legal studies and lifelong learning

  • GREENDT (2024–2027) – Green and sustainable development through education

These initiatives are not only boosting the quality of higher education in Uzbekistan but also promoting green and digital transitions in line with Erasmus+ priorities.

On 8 May 2025, an online session titled “Erasmus+ CBHE Projects Information: DEBSEUz and Best Practices” brought together educators and practitioners from across Uzbekistan. Associate Professor Halimjon Khujamatov (Tashkent University of Information Technologies) led the presentation, offering insights and recommendations drawn from the Erasmus+ CBHE project focused on launching Bachelor’s degree programs in Solar Energy.

“Best Practices of Erasmus+ Projects at Karakalpakstan Higher Education Institutions”

On May 8, information and experience-sharing sessions were held at Nukus State Technical University as part of Erasmus+ Week. The event featured A. Tureniyazova — Head of the Information Technology Department, international expert, and member of the Higher Education Reform Experts (HEREs) under the Erasmus+ Programme.

During the sessions, university professors engaged in meaningful discussions on best practices, innovative approaches, and opportunities for international cooperation through Erasmus+. Participants actively asked questions and explored key directions for future collaboration.

These sessions were part of the regional activities organized during Erasmus+ Week (5–8 May), aimed at strengthening inter-university knowledge and experience exchange.
