Italy and Uzbekistan strengthen academic ties through 10 joint scientific projects
On 18 February 2026, during the Second Italy–Uzbekistan Rectors’ Forum held in Rome, 10 joint scientific projects were presented. Each project is co-financed by Italy and Uzbekistan with a contribution of €1 million per project.
The initiatives involve 11 Italian higher education institutions. Most of these universities have previously cooperated with Uzbekistan through Erasmus+ ICM and CBHE projects, demonstrating how established academic partnerships are developing into new research collaborations.
