6th conference: “International Credit Mobility: Role in improving the quality of education and scientific research”
Upon the initiative of the National Erasmus+ Office, the 6th conference: “Erasmus + International Credit Mobility: Role in improving the quality of education and scientific research” was held at the National University of Uzbekistan on the promotion of the principles of the Bologna process in organizing bilateral mobility and strengthening the process of internationalization of the higher education system.
The activity of Erasmus+ programme has been gaining bigger popularity in Uzbekistan. NEO held its 6th conference on “Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility: Role in improving quality of education and scientific research” at National University of Uzbekistan on 16 December 2022. It was organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialised Education (MHSSE) of the Republic of Uzbekistan and National University of Uzbekistan.
The main goal of the conference was promotion of the principles of Boulogne Process in organisation of bilateral mobility between the higher education institutions (HEIs) of Uzbekistan and EU. Furthermore, internationalisation of higher education in Uzbekistan was discussed within the framework of the conference.
Objectives of the conference included:
• exchange of knowledge and experience acquired during the mobility period within Erasmus+ and the implementation of learning and research results in Uzbekistan;
• analysis of the best practices in the organisation of mobility and the introduction of recognition mechanisms for short-term studies in European universities;
• analysis of the experience of participation in credit mobility and in creating the basis for joint curricula and faculties with partner universities in Europe.
Highlight of the conference was the participation of students with their presentations on their mobility experiences. 50 participants from local HEIs attended the conference.
A quiz dedicated to Erasmus+ programme was organized at the end of the event. Participants won gifts from EU Delegation/NEO. Furthermore, the conference speakers were awarded with certificates.
The conference was full of impressive and resourceful reports by outstanding local and foreign professors, young researchers and students on their personal and professional experience of credit mobility with clear results of their work at present.
Thanks to a two-way exchange of students and teachers, relations with leading European universities are being developed within the framework of credit mobility, which also provides the opportunity to establish practical training in Europe and Uzbekistan.
