The National Erasmus+ Office in Uzbekistan participated in the Tourism Collaboration Marketplace session of the Central Asia-EU Tourism Forum 2025, held on 28 November at the Central Asian Expo in Tashkent and organised by the European Commission (DG MOVE) together with the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan.

During this dynamic marketplace format, Aziza Abdurakhmanova, Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office, presented the contribution of Erasmus+ to skills development and innovation in the tourism and hospitality sector. The intervention highlighted how Erasmus+ supports curricula modernisation, the introduction of digital and green tourism approaches, and the strengthening of partnerships between European higher education institutions and universities across Uzbekistan and the wider Central Asian region, including cooperation with tourism companies.

The regional priorities for Central Asia for potential applicants to the upcoming Erasmus+ Call 2026 were also presented, emphasising their alignment with the Global Gateway.

The session gathered tourism associations, universities, private-sector representatives and European institutions, offering a platform for exchanging ideas and exploring new opportunities for cooperation across the EU and Central Asia.

The participation of the National Erasmus+ Office emphasised the importance of education, capacity building and international collaboration in advancing a more sustainable and competitive tourism ecosystem in the region.
