Uzbekistan is expanding scientific cooperation with the European Union under the Horizon Europe programme
On 12–13 February 2026, a two-day conference dedicated to the “Horizon Europe” program is taking place in Tashkent. This event has become an important platform for dialogue aimed at further deepening strategic cooperation with the European Union in the fields of science and innovation.

The conference was organized on the initiative of the Uzbekistan National Contact Point for Horizon Europe, with the support of the European Commission’s Global Service Facility and the Delegation of the European Union to Uzbekistan. The event was held at Tashkent State Technical University and brought together over 100 scientists and researchers from various regions of the country, representatives of higher education institutions, industry specialists, and policymakers.

The first session of the conference focused on the work programs of the Horizon Europe program for 2026–2027, featuring presentations on funding priorities, thematic clusters, and international cooperation mechanisms. As emphasized during the event, participation in this program represents not only financial opportunities but also an important strategic step toward integration into the European research area.
