Erasmus+ CBHE 2025 Results Announced!

Among the 173 projects selected for funding under the 2025 Call for Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE), 10 projects involve Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) from Central Asia. Notably, Uzbekistan is involved in 6 projects with a leading role in 4 projects acting as Grantholders (Coordinators):
- Tashkent University of Information Technologies (Erasmus+ CBHE Cyber4CA)
- Kimyo International University in Tashkent (Erasmus+ CBHE GreenEngine project)
- Nukus State Technical University (Erasmus+ CBHE MECAS)
- Kokand University (Erasmus+ CBHE GreenCamUz)
In total, 19 HEIs from Uzbekistan —comprising both public and private institutions from Tashkent, Fergana, Andijan, Khorezm and the Republic of Karakalpakstan — are participating. The total budget allocated for Central Asia (Region 6) amounts to approximately €5.6 million. Furthermore, 11 Universities and respective ministries of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan are also involved.
There are 6 HEIs newcomers from Uzbekistan , including 2 public and 4 private HEIs:
- Nukus State Technical University
- Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies
- Tashkent International University
- University of Management and Future Technologies
- Kokand University
- Yangi Asr University
The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation (MHESI) of Uzbekistan is involved in 4 projects, including 2 as a full partner.
7 non-academic partners in Uzbekistan are represented by relevant ministries, associations, enterprises and unions: Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation; Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate; Union for Defence of the Aral Sea and AmuDarya River; UNICON.UZ- Centre For Scientific, Technical and Marketing Research; "INNO TEXNOPARK" LLC; "INNO TEXNOPARK” LLC
Types of Projects :
- 4 Regional Projects involving Central Asian countries focus on empowering women in Rural Tourism Entrepreneurship, Master curricula in EcoInformatics, Innovative educational programme in Cyber Security, Advanced Training in Artificial Intelligence Technologies.
- 1 National Project (strand 1) will provide support to HEIs-newcomers under Green Deal priority (Climate change and Environmental resilience)
- 1 Cross-Regional Project – involving universities of Georgia and Uzbekistan is dedicated to fostering Creative Engineering for a Sustainable Green World.
The projects will be implemented in cooperation of 18 universities and three non-academic organisations of 10 countries associated to the programme.
