Strengthening Cooperation: National Erasmus+ Office in Uzbekistan and the Technical Regulation Agency

On February 25, 2025, the Director of the Uzbek Agency for Technical Regulation under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Akmal Jumanazarov, met with the Coordinator of the National Erasmus+ Office in Uzbekistan, Aziza Abdurakhmanova, to discuss opportunities for collaboration within the Erasmus+ Programme.
During the constructive meeting, both sides emphasized the growing importance of preparing highly skilled, knowledgeable, responsible, and competitive professionals in globalization and the market economy. It was highlighted that qualified specialists play a crucial role in the economic, political, and socio-economic development of any country.
Discussions focused on establishing close cooperation with leading international scientific and educational institutions in the fields of technical regulation, standardization, and metrology. Key topics included attracting Erasmus+ grants and technical assistance, engaging highly qualified foreign professors and researchers in professional development courses, and facilitating international training opportunities for agency staff.
Furthermore, both parties agreed on registering the Agency for participation in Erasmus+ projects, developing a competitive Erasmus+ project in collaboration with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) actively involved in the programme, and organizing practical seminar training on Erasmus+ opportunities and the 2025 calls for proposals. The preparation of skilled professionals within the Erasmus+ framework was set as a priority goal.
As a result of the meeting, a mutual commitment was reached to enhance cooperation, strengthen collaboration across various sectors, and expand partnerships to support capacity building and professional development initiatives in Uzbekistan.
