ANOTHER GREAT SUCCESS FOR UZBEKISTAN IN HORIZON EUROPE!

We are pleased to share another exciting achievement from Uzbekistan in the field of international research and innovation!

Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) is part of the consortium of the new Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Action (RIA) project GLOBAL-ACT — “Integrated global assessment of climate risks and the socio-economic costs of climate inaction under institutional delay and geopolitical fragmentation.”

GLOBAL-ACT brings together 22 partners from Europe, Central Asia, Asia, Africa, Australia and the Americas to address one of the most pressing global challenges of our time — climate change and the socio-economic consequences of delayed climate action.

Project duration: 36 months

Maximum grant amount: €4.55 million

Consortium: 22 international partners

Evaluation score: 14.50/15

The project will develop a new generation of integrated climate–economy assessment tools to better understand the full socio-economic costs of climate inaction and assess feasible pathways for mitigation, adaptation and resilience.

GLOBAL-ACT stands out for its interdisciplinary and global approach, bringing together climate science, economics, governance, behavioural research and policy analysis. The project will also develop practical tools, indicators and decision-support resources for policymakers, financial institutions, researchers and other stakeholders.

The proposal received an impressive 14.50/15, including 5/5 for Impact and 5/5 for Quality and efficiency of implementation.

Congratulations to WIUT and the entire GLOBAL-ACT consortium!

Uzbekistan’s participation in major international research initiatives such as GLOBAL-ACT is an important step towards strengthening the country’s research capacity, expanding global academic cooperation and contributing to solutions for shared global challenges.

We wish the GLOBAL-ACT consortium every success in this important international research journey!
