European Union Law Course Taught at Karakalpak State University within an International Grant Project
The international project “Teaching European Union Law”, funded under the ERASMUS-JMO-2025-HEI-TCH-RSCH programme, is being successfully implemented at Karakalpak State University named after Berdakh. The project, which is scheduled to run from 2025 to 2028, aims to strengthen the university’s international academic cooperation and enhance the quality of legal education.
The project was awarded to Karakalpak State University in August 2025 following a decision by the European Commission. To ensure the successful implementation of the initiative, a Grant Agreement was signed between the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) and Karakalpak State University named after Berdakh.

As part of the project, the course “European Union Law” is being taught to students of the Faculty of Law. The course provides students with comprehensive knowledge of the European Union’s legal system, its institutions and sources of law, European integration processes, and contemporary developments in international law.
The course is delivered by the project coordinator A. Gulimov together with project team members G. Yuldasheva, R. Azkhodjayeva, and A. Berdimuratov. Through lectures and practical sessions, students are gaining both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of European Union law.

The project contributes significantly to improving the quality of education at the university, aligning legal education with international standards, and enhancing students’ knowledge and competencies in European Union law. In addition, it promotes international academic cooperation, encourages the exchange of best practices, and supports the preparation of highly qualified legal professionals capable of meeting the demands of the global labor market.
The successful implementation of this international project strengthens the university’s position in the international academic community and plays an important role in training modern, competitive, and highly skilled legal specialists.
