GREENCAMUZ PROJECT KICK-OFF MEETING SUCCESSFULLY HELD

From 25 to 27 March 2026, the official kick-off meeting of the GreenCamUz: “Green Campus Initiative: Integrating Sustainability into Higher Education in Uzbekistan” project took place in Tashkent.

The three-day event was hosted by:

• Tashkent International University (TIU)
• Green University
• Alfraganus University (AFU)

The meeting brought together representatives of Uzbek and European partner universities, ministries, and international organizations to discuss the project’s objectives and key priorities.

Key highlights of the event:

• Official opening ceremony with welcome speeches from high-level representatives
• Presentations by project partners
• Overview of project work packages (WP1–WP7), tasks, and expected outcomes
• Discussions on green campus strategy development, curriculum integration, and sustainable infrastructure
• Planning of project management, financial aspects, and next steps

Participants also took part in university tours and a cultural programme in Tashkent.

The GreenCamUz project aims to promote sustainability in higher education institutions in Uzbekistan by introducing green campus practices and strengthening international cooperation.
