Technical Assistance Mission (TAM) Seminar in Karshi!
On 24–25 September 2025, the National Erasmus+ Office in Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, and the University of Information Technologies and Management (UITM) jointly organized a two-day TAM seminar in Karshi on the topic: “Integration of Education and Training in Higher Education Related to Engineering Fields.”
The seminar brought together Ph.D. students, professors, academic and administrative staff, who learned about European practices, Uzbekistan’s ongoing reforms, and practical approaches to aligning education with industry needs.
Key seminar topics included:
Prof. Zafar Sunnatov (Rector of UITM), Makhmudjon Utkurov (Project Manager, National Erasmus+ Office), and Nurbek Kobilov (UZ HERE, UITM) delivered opening speeches, highlighting the seminar’s objectives and expected outcomes.
Javlonbek Rahmatullaev (Andijan State Technical Institute) presented on current initiatives and experiences in integrating education and production in Uzbekistan’s engineering fields.
Dr. Filippo Silipigni (Fondazione Politecnico di Milano) shared European experience, with practical insights into intellectual property rights, non-disclosure agreements, and projects implemented at Politecnico di Milano.
Behruz Nematov (Uzbekistan GTL) presented industry-level practices for effective organization of practical training.
On the second day, participants worked in small groups on practical tasks, presented their outcomes, and exchanged ideas on strategies for continuous improvement in STEAM integration.
