Follow up TAM seminar on Green Education Concepts & Strategies in Higher Education

The “TIIAME” National Research University organized an online seminar on December 27, 2024, as a follow-up event to the online TAM seminar titled “Green Education Concepts & Strategies in Higher Education.” 

EU expert Dr. Nur Hanife Orak from Marmara University, Turkey, along with HEREs in Uzbekistan and representatives from various universities across Uzbekistan, participated in the online follow-up seminar. The discussions focused on greening higher education, green campus initiatives, university sustainability, and international rankings related to university sustainability. Emphasis was placed on formulating actionable recommendations tailored to the specific needs of Uzbekistan's higher education system.

During the follow-up event, Dr. Ilhom Abdurahmanov provided a summary of the key insights shared during the TAM seminar and delivered a presentation titled “TIIAME” National Research University: Setting the Standard in Sustainability – QS and THE Ranking Perspective. Additionally, Dr. Asiya Tureniyazova presented on the topic “Universities’ Green Actions for the Aral Sea”.

The follow-up event generated several recommendations and proposals, which have been consolidated and officially submitted to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan. These proposals aim to promote the establishment of green universities, implement green campus initiatives, elevate universities' standings in sustainability-related rankings, encourage innovation, and strengthen collaboration within the nation’s academic community.
