HERE Study Visit: "Inclusive internationalisation: from good intentions to measurable outcomes" in Ghent, Belgium

On October 3-4, 2024, the Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE) group participated in the study visit titled "Inclusive Internationalisation: From Good Intentions to Measurable Outcomes." The event was held in Ghent, Belgium, hosted by Ghent University and the Support Centre for Inclusive Higher Education.

Representatives from the Erasmus+ Higher Education Reform Experts group in Uzbekistan attended, including:

  • Prof. Dr. Nozliya Normurodova, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation at Alisher Navo’i Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature,
  • Zumrad Usmanova, Doctor of Marketing at the Samarkand Institute of Economics and Service,
  • Khabibullo Nosirov, Dean of the Faculty of Radio and Mobile Communication at Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT), and
  • Asiya Tureniyazova, Head of the Information Technology Department at the Nukus branch of TUIT.

The visit also provided a broader perspective on how the Flanders higher education system is addressing inclusive internationalisation. Flanders has emerged as a leader in this area, promoting inclusivity within its institutions and through collaborations across Europe and beyond. The outcomes of the InclusiveHigherEducation.eu project were highlighted as a key example of how public authorities and higher education institutions across the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) are working together to implement principles and guidelines aimed at enhancing social inclusion.
