Final conference of Erasmus+ CBHE TALENT project
Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) is proud to announce the successful completion of the joint Erasmus+ CBHE TALENT project on the establishment of the Master programmes in Human Resource Management (HRM) and Talent Development in Central Asia. On this occasion, the University held the final conference on 26-28 September to discuss the successful project implementation and completion. The participants discussed project implementation outcomes, feedback and recommendations from project partners, as well as students’ theses presentations. The conference brought together country and regional stakeholders from research, government, and private sector communities to exchange knowledge, share ongoing trends in human resources management, and identify gaps for improvement for future education and research.
WIUT and BSU TALENT team of HRM academics and practitioners presented the results of the first in Uzbekistan CRANET (The Cranfield Network on International Human Resource Management) survey results. CRANET is the world’s largest HRM research network and the only one that has been collecting comparative data on HRM in different countries for more than three decades. WIUT became the first and only University to represent Uzbekistan since 2021 and collaborate with over 40 Universities and business schools in Europe, North America, Africa, Asia, and Australia.
Among the other major new announcements at the conference was the establishment of the HR and Talent Development Club which will serve as a community for sharing expert knowledge in HRM and talent management, as well as a platform for an enriching experience and networking for professionals triangulating industry-university/research-graduates that will develop and nurture human capital development within the business and education sector. The mission is to create and sustain a network of professionals in the HRM sphere which positively impacts the lives of the organisation by popularizing HRM as a profession that promotes best practices and standards. Association members can be employees and representatives of companies, universities, research institutions and public sector organisations throughout the Republic.
Erasmus+ TALENT project is aimed at creating an accredited two-year Master programme in HRM & Talent Development. The project involved six universities from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. The general project coordinator was Vrije University in Brussel (Belgium) and included coaches from the European University partners such as Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg, Germany; Athens University of Economics and Business, Greece; and Institute of Philosophy and Sociology, Bulgaria. It also included the associate project partners, namely International Trade Union Confederation; European Employers’ Federation; International Labour Organization.
Team of local and international experts undergone training programmes in European countries to ensure the highest quality of programme design to fit the needs of the Uzbek market. In October, 2022 WIUT will host the graduation ceremony for the first graduates of its unique programme.
