Kick-off Meeting of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education Project HEMUA

The first meeting between the partners of the HEMUA project (Higher Education Modernization to boost Uzbekistan’s Agricultural system and promote excellence and regional development) was held at DISTAL.
On February 19 and 20, the first meeting between the partners of the HEMUA project took place at DISTAL. The project, coordinated under the title “Higher Education Modernization to boost Uzbekistan’s Agricultural system and promote excellence and regional development,” aims to increase the attractiveness of Uzbekistan’s higher education system for prospective students and to introduce a quality assurance system for teaching, aligned with European models. Another goal is to enhance students’ transversal skills to better meet the demands of an ever-evolving labor market.
The consortium consists of two European universities – the University of Bologna (UNIBO) and the University of Rostock (Germany) – and four Uzbek higher education institutions: Samarkand University, Bukhara University, Urgench University, and the Karshi Engineering and Economics Institute, as well as a private Uzbek company in the agri-food sector.
Professor Moreno Toselli from DISTAL coordinates the project, with the involvement of Diana Di Gioia, Elena Baldi, and Daniele Alberoni from the Department.
