REILEAP: Modernizing the Leather Industry in Uzbekistan & Kazakhstan

The Erasmus+ REILEAP project (15.01.2021 - 14.07.2024) played a key role in strengthening the leather and leather products sector in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. With an EU grant of €914,603, the project focused on university-enterprise cooperation, aiming to enhance education, innovation, and industry competitiveness.
Key Achievements:
- Establishment of four Leather Product Centres (two in Uzbekistan, two in Kazakhstan).
- Strengthened modernization, innovation, and competitiveness in the leather sector.
- Provided business services like quality testing, product certification, and modern design support.
- Created specialized training for students and professionals, with a strong focus on empowering women in the industry.
- Fostered collaborations between universities and enterprises for long-term impact.
Coordinated by the Polytechnic University of Crete (Greece), the project brought together 10 partners from 6 countries, including:
