On 25–26 February, important meetings were held in Brussels as part of the visit of the Uzbek delegation to the institutions of the European Union.
Senator Orol Aminovna Ataniyazova participated in the roundtable discussion titled “Reforms and Cooperation: A New Agenda for Uzbekistan and the European Union” as well as in the 19th meeting of the “European Union – Republic of Uzbekistan” Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.
During the meetings, the following key issues were discussed:

Results of education reforms – modernization processes in higher education and the expansion of international cooperation;

Healthcare system improvements – enhancing the quality of medical services and the outcomes of systemic reforms;

Youth potential – the growing capacity of young people, who make up nearly 60% of the population, and the emergence of a new generation of students and young researchers;

Expansion of international programmes – the proposal to increase funding opportunities for Uzbekistan under Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe;
-
Adolescent health and well-being – the initiative to develop an international regulatory document aimed at improving the health and well-being of adolescents, one of the most vulnerable groups globally.
These meetings contribute to strengthening cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union in the fields of science, education, and healthcare.
